A mere 30 minutes North of the Cape point national park is a small town called Simon’s town. Made famous by 2 things, Simon’s town has the biggest South African Navy base and also is home to pristine white sandy beaches with clear water you can almost see the sea bed. At one of these beaches is a bustling colony of African penguins, Boulders beach penguin colony. For obvious reasons, Boulders beach is very popular with visitors on a daily bases who come here to have close view of African penguins in their natural environment. Visitors may take many pictures provided that they will not be using a selfie stick. Touching and feeding are also not allowed.
